The video saga is over

Last week, we finally received the raw footage. That's the last piece of the package.

I also realized why they sliced and diced the music in our ceremony edit. It's because the entire audio track came from a mic attached to V. And V just couldn't resist singing certain parts of certain songs, so his voice was super loud in those parts. So they had to edit around it.

Speaking of which, I had fun listening to this audio track. It's basically an hour and half long recording from the moment they gave V the mic (about half an hour before the wedding) until they took it off. Highlights include:

- V asking the music director, "Hey are you going to set up the choir mics? WHAT? They were stolen?". And then afterwards, "It's kind of funny to be standing between a priest and a cop."

- His GM giving him tips on not messing up his vows; V responding that he was afraid he might say something like, "I, John Smith..."

- About 5 mins before the ceremony, "Alright. Time to get my married on."

Fun. I kind of wish I had recordings of my last few minutes before the wedding. :)

  • Time to get my married on.

    Love it!

That seems like such a neat thing to have.

  • That is awesome. So glad the saga is over. I'm still waiting on my video. Maybe a 2nd anniversary surprise?

  • That is awesome! I love that you got to hear everything he said for the half hour leading up to the wedding. That is priceless.
  • That is so cool. I wish I had something like that. I have a home movie that people in my family walked around filming. I still haven't seen it.
  • That is so cool that you got to hear that! Someone popped their head in with a video camera right before I walked down the aisle and asked if I had any "last words".. I said "I think I'm gonna throw up".. LOL! I was so nervous.
  • How fun! I'm glad with the raw footage you were able to figure out why the audio was spliced.

  • That's so fun! I kinda want to know the story about the stolen equipment now :).

Oh... someone broke into our church the morning of the wedding and stole a somewhat expensive omnidirectional mic, and some of the wireless mics that the priests use. The equipment was about a year or two old. There were a couple of cops still doing their investigation before and even DURING the wedding.

Honestly. Who steals from a church??

I actually noticed the cops still hanging around after the wedding. I wondered what they were doing there... and then I thought, "Well... nice of them to drop by!" Haha, I was so oblivious.

I kinda thought it was against everyones rules to steal from church. I also think it's funny that it was strange for cops to be at your wedding while mine was filled with them. We had several cops on duty show up at our wedding and they held up traffic it was hilarious!
