Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Trouble with new account

I know a few of you have created new accounts since getting married, and I want to do that, too. My current account has my maiden name in it, and I don't want people to be able to find my posts if they Google my name.

Anyway, I created a new account, but every time I go to use the boards it says I have to create a username to proceed. Everything I put in it says is already taken. But I know there's no way these things are taken. I've tried crazy combinations just to make it work. Anyone else have this problem??

Re: Trouble with new account

  • I haven't made a new account but are you using the same email address as your current one? If so, that might be the problem. Just an idea!

  • No, I used one of my other emails because I knew someone had said if you use the same you have to wait so many days. Weird!
  • I had that very same issue when I first migrated over here.  I wanted to change my username because I am no longer a Lisa M.  However, I just could not stay signed in with my new name so I just gave up.  Hope you find a solution though!  Maybe you need to contact site support or something.
