Palin speakin' in Maine, dontcha know

From Palin speaking in Maine:

"for a campaign who says they're all about the future, our opponents sure do like to talk about the past"

Like things that happened 40 YEARS ago?

I really need to stop watching her speak or else my eyes are going to roll straight out of my head.

Re: Palin speakin' in Maine, dontcha know

  • Serious question:

Do Alaskans really speak with a "Minnesota" accent? I've been wondering that for the past 6 weeks.

  • One of the girls on the old board is actually from there, and she says no.  She says that some of them have a MILD accent, but that Palin's is very VERY exaggerated.
  • Weird.

Palin's accent is almost exactly like my mom's, and my mom grew up near Fargo.

  • Is Palin's really an Idaho accent?

Good luck in Maine, Sarah.  Sure, you may be able to field dress a moose, but Mainahs are more liberal than Alaskans.  In Maine, they love their moose, they don't kill them.

  • My Alaskan in-laws say that it's a western Canadian accent.  Oh, and my gay uncle-in-law has field dressed a moose in Wasilla.  So he doesn't think she's special for it :)

I love that Maine has a pro-choice republican senator, and has for years.

And, yeah, if you don't want to bring up the past (which is a stupid idea anyway) you might want to tell McCain to stop bringing up things most Americans don't remember or even know about.  Even I had to ask what the great society was.  I thought it was some pre-depression thing, just from the context of McCain saying it.

I sometimes wonder is she really serious? Does she really not listen to herself?

LOL  Well, some of them kill Moose but you have to wait aprox. ten years to get on the list, and then it is a lottery system. But that is how they love the Moose. Please don't ask how I know this.  Wink

  • Her accent is completely affected and something she just picked up for this campaign.  She didn't have it in 2006 when she ran for governor.
