Does your pup need a nail trimming?
If so, come to Family Pet Express Friday, Oct. 1, from 3-7 p.m. They are offering free nail trimmings,
any donations received will go directly to the Minnesota Valley Humane
Society.
Family Pet Express is located at 14821 Granada Ave in Apple Valley, it's in the strip mall behind McDonald's & Dairy Queen near the intersection of Cedar & County Road 42.
The homeless doggies, kitties
& critters living at MVHS will thank you!

Re: dog people ...
My Sammy definitely needs a nail trim, so I'll be taking him tomorrow.
I hope it's successful too ... it's been a tough year for fundraising at non-profits and they could really use the help. They're trying to raise money to move to a new location, which is sorely needed as their current facility is not meeting their needs at all anymore. There are just so many homeless pets!

I'm not sure. Our dog is pretty calm (he's older) and never really fights getting his nails trimmed. I haven't ever trimmed them myself, I always take him to a groomer, but it's never been a problem. I'm sure the groomers deal with lots of dogs who aren't so cooperative so I would guess they know how to handle it, but I don't know specifically what they do to keep the dogs calm and still.
My Sam is easy when it comes to nail trimming, but giving him a bath, that's another story. Wrestling a wet & soapy 80-lb dog in the bath tub is not easy! :-)

She doesn't fight so much as she flinches .. but I have never tried to do a complete nail trim on all 4 paws when she is acting flinchy.. I guess I just have to decide tomorrow what I want to do!
Maybe I'll try to wear her out and then bring her...
