spit up (breast milk) and microfiber

Does anyone know how to get the smell of spit up out of microfiber? DS spewed this morning (no DH, out 3 week old CAN'T take 5 oz of BM in an hour!) and OMG the couch reeks now. Should i just call someone in to clean it or is there an in-between trick I can do. I'm sure it wont be the last time it happens.

Re: spit up (breast milk) and microfiber

  • I am sure you already thought of this, but does your couch have a warranty?  When we bought our microfiber couch, we got some sort of stain warranty on it so we had them come out when the same exact thing happened to us.  (And that warranty was void if we put any cleaning products on it before they came out).

If it is a cushion, I would take off the case and use water only and let it dry and then see how it smells.

  • You'll want to wipe the entire cushion with a wet cloth. This way there won't be a stain mark when it dries.

I've also sprayed Target brand upholstery cleaner on a damp cloth and wiped in all over the couch. Let dry.  This took urine and milk stains out---  we're potty learning and had an accident.
