I'm working 1-9 today. I got in to find an unexpected envelope in my mail slot. I was freaked out, because I'm still waiting for the ax to fall from a goof I made back in August (in front of the administrator who runs the whole campus with a management style similar to that of Henry VIII).
It turned out to be a letter to my boss and the lady in charge of the writing/critical thinking program; the professor who wrote it cc'd me. I did a library presentation for his class yesterday morning, and this was a two-page letter going on and on and on about how amazing and brilliant I was, what a fantastic teacher I am, how well-prepared I was, how well I integrated technology, how lucky the campus is to have me, etc., etc.
I really needed that, because I've been struggling with a lot of second-guessing this fall. The whole incident in August shook me up a lot, so it's good to know that some people think that I'm doing a good job. I just wish that he'd also sent the letter to that certain administrator! ![]()
Re: AW: Shameless bragging
Awww, it's always nice to hear good things about yourself!!!
I would go to the administrator's office to ask a "question" and then "accidentally" leave the letter on their desk. OOPS.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Said administrator has a "nobody sees the wizard" sort of contact policy when it comes to her inferiors. When she had the issue with my presentation in August, rather than email me or speak to me directly, she emailed my boss and made it clear that he was supposed to get his minions in line. I would get in MAJOR trouble if lowly little me dared to approach her.
