Small World
Last night, my mom received some drawings that my great grandmother had drawn when she was in her teens. One was a portrait of a young man (dated around 1924 or 1928) and it said "hopelesscase" followed by his name written 3 or 4 times on the front of the picture. His last name is the same as my married name! After my mom and FIL had gone back and forth with some emails, and my FIL had talked to his mother (who is 96), they discovered that this guy in the picture in my H's grandfather's cousin who was having a relationship of some sort with my great grandmother!
We still need to talk to H's grandmother to see if she knew my great-grandma. FIL's response to my H was "Well, you've done somethign that 3 generations of us couldn't do. You snagged a (enter my last name)" haha
It's just such a weird story I had to share.

My freshman year in college I became very close friends with a girl. It turned out that her grandmother was a bridesmaid in my grandmother's wedding! We grew up in different states so it's funny that we even discovered that.
