How would you handle this?
My mom sells Avon and one of my coworkers bought two pressed powders off of her, which I delivered today. One of the powders were cracked, and it was a little messy, but nothing too bad. Coworker wants a new powder, and the cracked one sent back. So here's my question, if you received makeup that you had ordered was cracked, would you want it sent back? Personally, I don't see the problem. She's going to use it anyway and I'm sure it will eventually get cracked at home. The reason I'm asking is whenever my mom has to send something back it costs her money, and its just generally a pain in the butt. Am I wrong to be a little agravated?
Two souls but a single thought; Two hearts that beat as one

Re: How would you handle this?
Oh I will, I would never say anything about it. This coworker is very spoiled, so I was just wondering what other people would do. I would just have kept the makeup and used it.
I am spoiled to but I use the Bare Minerals so mine is already cracked Teehee. Back in the day when I always used MAC I would have returned it. But agian it isn't mail order.
What sucks is that you are put in the middle and you shouldn't have to be. She should have called your mother not discussed it with you. Heck you are just the delivery person .
Haha whats the old saying? Don't shoot the delivery man?
Was it like compact powder and the powder was cracked, or was the container cracked??
Like Pam, I only use Bare Minerals.
I would want to send it back. If it is a pressed powder I stop using them when they crack. Typically I throw my powder into my bag to bring with me to the gym, etc. If it's cracked, it will spill all over my bag if the case comes open a little bit. Also, once it's cracked I find I can't swoosh my brush around it properly because big chunks get caught up in my brush, so it doesn't go on my face properly and it just generally makes a mess.
I am also a big makeup snob though...when I worked in the beauty industry I was the makeup artist - I've applied it to people for their wedding days, etc. Also, I'm always the one that does my friend's makeup whenever we go out. I'm really particular about it.
So yeah...if I paid full price for something and it came to me in less than perfect condition, I would return it.
The powder was cracked, not the container.
I use Avon's smooth minerals, which is just like bare minerals.
If the makeup itself was cracked, then yes, I agree with jehawley. If I paid for something, I would expect it to be in perfect condition. I'm sure it's a pain in the ass for your mom, but that's kinda how it goes when you're selling products. People don't want to pay full price for something that's imperfect.
Agreed. But like Pam and Stu... I use BareMinerals.
