Polished Chrome - Hard water

Any ideas how to get Chrome nice & shiny? We seem to have hard water stains on the chrome :(

Re: Polished Chrome - Hard water

  • If there's a lot of build up you can use vinegar. Wet a paper towel with it and wrap it around the affected area. Then wrap that with saran wrap or cover it with a plastic bag and leave it on for a few hours. The acetic acid will eat the build up away and then you can wash it off. You might need a toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies though. For the final clean/polish I'd use a very slightly damp microfiber cloth wipe it down to get of the major mess and then go over it again and buff it so it shines.

  • Cut a lemon in half and rub the inside of the lemon all over the buildup. Let it sit overnight and in the morning it should wipe right off.

  • Orange pledge!  I spray a microcloth with it and wipe the fixtures.  Works wonders! :)
