So my doctor called me back, and when I told her that the nurse had said that the bcp could not be causing my eye trouble, she was PISSED.
I have a very strong family history of blood clots. My Mom is on a daily dose of coumadin because of this. I was tested, and don't have the same blood disorder my mom has, but I'm still at higher risk.
Basically, having vision problems is a sign of increased risk of stroke/blood clots, because it is a build up on fluid in the eye/head due to the hormones. Now, I didn't tell the nurse this, but yesterday I had an episode of leg pain so severe I was fighting back tears on the way home. They ached for hours. I have no idea why they hurt, since I hadn't done anything strenous, and I sit at a desk all day.
My doctor was even more alarmed, and told me to stop taking the Seasonique immediately.
So basically, if I had been a doormat and listened to the nurse, I could have had a clot or stroke. I am SO pissed at that stupid nurse, and so glad that I stood up for myself and refused to listen to her asinine advice.
