I have seen a few times on House Hunters (HGTV) couples using checklists, does anyone have anything like this? We are going to start looking for a home soon (Sunday, yippee!) after being married 3 years. I want to be able to keep all the houses straight, you know which one has a finished basement, which one has nice closets etc. I can make one but was wondering if anyone had one already done?
Thanks for any help!
Re: Home search checklist
This is what we did, as well. It just worked the best when we were going through the houses since we could see the picture from the MLS listing and then write comments on it next to everything.
Good luck with your search!
Yes, we had a checklist of our "must-haves" and "would like to haves", then checked off whether the house had it or not, and left a spot to write notes (like, yes, it has a basement, but it has signs of water damage). It was an easy way to look down the list and see which houses had the most yeses, and jogged our memory to look at specific things.
ETA: Pictures help too! Bring a camera and take pictures of stuff you like (big closets) and stuff you don't (cracked ceiling), to help keep them straight.
