My trashy fashion moment

Hi everyone!  Teacher workday,so I thought I'd pop on for a minute and say hello.

Now to share my trashy fashion tip- My toes are currently painted OPI Lincoln Park After Dark which is a super dark blackish purple.   Well it has begun to chip.  Just call me McGuyver (sp?)   pull out my sharpie marker and you can easily touch up any chips and no one will know the difference.  Well no one will know unless they are inappropriately close to my feet.  I'm now getting twice as much life from my pedi.  Embarrassed  Time and money saved....hahahaha.

Now that I've shared my secret and got a new topic for the board- what are some of your fashion violations or fixes?????

  • I have been known to fill scuff marks on my black shoes with a black sharpie Big Smile

I've done it to my brown heels when a chunk came out of the heel. Big Smile  Gotta love sharpies!

  • So resourceful!

I can't say that I have any fixes, I just deal w/ looking crappy.

  • I was once somewhere where I somehow ripped the hem on a pair of pants (or was it a skirt?).  Either way, I had to fix it, so I stapled it and then colored the staples with a sharpie (I do remember the skirt or pants were black).  I've also glued a hem--once--that wasn't as successful as the staples.

I'll also admit to wearing two different shoes once.  I had grabbed my dress shoes while it was dark and drove to the location (about an hour away) and when I went to change into the dress shoes I noticed that I had grabbed one shoe from each pair of identical-except-the-color shoes (if I know I'll be standing a lot, I'll usually wear comfy shoes there and then change shoes later).  Frankly, I was more happy at the fact that I at least had a left and a right shoe than mortified that one was navy and the other was cordovan.  No one noticed--at least I didn't tell anyone and didn't see anyone pointing and laughing at me.  (I guess that's what happens when you are so fast no one sees your shoes, right?! Or when you're pants are long enough Cool)

  • Great stuff! Lol

Sharpies do fix everything! That and duct tape :o)

When I used to have a bra that snapped in the front, it busted at some point during school, so I went on a scavenger hunt for a safety pin, but ended up stapling the stupid thing back together.
