XP: Savannah hotels at Christmas - recs?

H and I are spending Christmas at my mom's near Savannah, but for lots of reasons (she's an inside smoker, I'll be hugely pregnant, she invited all the kids) we're not planning to stay at her house. Any recommendations for Savannah hotels/B&Bs that do it up right at Christmas?

Re: XP: Savannah hotels at Christmas - recs?

  • I don't think its possible to have "Savannah + Christmas + wrong" in the same sentence! I bet it will be awesome.

I love the Hyatt + the Westin both on opposite sides of the river. Well, the Westin is a bit farther off and more $$. I've stayed at the Mansion on Forsyth... nice but um... "eclectic" for sure. And not budget-friendly at all.

You cannot go wrong with the hotels on Bay St. The DoubleTree, the Hampton Inn, etc are going to be more budget friendly (don't forget to account for "Holiday Rates" there.) but for a more Savannah feel, I'd check out the go-to B&B's like the 1895 Inn, Olde Savannah Inn, Kehoe House, etc.

Use Trip Advisor for recent reviews as I haven't stayed there since '08. We have family in the area so we don't usually use hotels while we're in town, but I got married there so we did see our fair share of hotels while that shindig went down!
