SOOOOOO... the house next door to us has been on the market for a while. FINALLY the for sale sign goes down. Last night around 8:00ish, we get a knock on the door. It's the neighbor's mother asking if we had heard anything going on next door recently. We walk outside and someone had apparently used a brick to break the window to their garage and then try to use a crowbar to pry open the garage door. WTF?????????? So I tell them to call the police because I know for a fact that it wasn't like that this morning.
I ended up making an extra phone call to the country sherriff's office first thing this morning to get them to up their patrol through our neighborhood. They told me that the extra patrol duty lasts for only 7 days, but I can call an renew it every week. They also said to call for any traffic violations, any suspicious people/vehicles, and to let them know when we'll be going out of town so they can keep an extra eye on it. Dude, this sucks.
I'm going to pass along the phone number to all of my neighbors today after work.
Re: Stupid fvcking thug neighbors
Thats crazy!!!! I would be so paranoid now.
We only have neighbors on one side of our house, on the other is a church parking lot. I'm really glad the neighbors we do have are normal though!
My car was broken into, not last night but the night before. I totally meant to post about here but then I forgot.
When Dave got up for work yesterday morning, the front passenger side door was open. He went to go close it, thinking WTF? And noticed that the glove compartment and center console were both open, and that all the papers and things in my backseat were rifled through. Thankfully my car was just full of junk and nothing valuable, I don't think they took anything. I am bad for leaving money and my iPods in the car (I have three, so typically there would be one in the car) but they weren't in there when this happened. Although, an extra set of keys for Dave's car WERE in the console, they obviously missed them or just didn't care. When I thought about the fact that they could have easily taken them and then stole Dave's car I panicked a bit. We're really lucky they didn't seem to think about those!
Let it be known that not only do I live in a nice neighborhood, but my NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS are both cops (father and son) AND one of their squad cars was in the driveway. So these theives were BALLSY.
