Did anyone watch? I finally did last night and kind of felt like I was watching a wreck on mopac.
Re: Sister wives
i set the dvr to watch it. i was too curious.
i thought the show was c.r.e.e.p.y.
the dude is totally skeevy and the whole situation boggles the mind. my thought is that they are all consenting adults - so do what you want, but i did not enjoy watching him communicate to the women. seems like a guy that thought it was hot shiiite on a stick back 'in the day' and is still living with that mentality (i guess sleeping with three different women will do that to an ego??).
and... polygamy is a felony in utah - but they do not prosecute (as they're consenting, and it's not hurting anyone) but there is now an investigation as officials feel like they are 'flaunting' their status. I'm sure they knew putting this show on the air they were at risk for this. Not sure how it will be handled. We shall see.
i'll probably watch again... but i'll be squinting and making an icky face the whole time because he's creepy.

I totally watched!
I am a sucker for crap shows like that!
The husband is a weirdo!! To me, the wives seem to want friends so they are ok with it. Did you notice the sports car the husband drove? I thought that was odd since there are so many kids...
do you think the kids leave the house often??? probably not. they take a bus to school with other polygamists and they probably stay close to home, i would imagine.

I watched, but not the whole thing. I had to take a break. I have to say, I was most grossed out by the tooth pulling- I can't handle that!
As for the polygamy, I'm pretty liberal, and there are times that I wouldn't mind an extra wife around here to help with the housework and the sexy time.
But I agree that he was weird. He said he's a "salesman." What are you selling to have that kind of money? And it looks like he tans, I noticed the white eyes like you get from the tanning bed goggles.
Also, and I know I'm getting hung up on the minor things, but did you see the pics from back when they first got married? Maybe I'm just being catty about bad fashion and these ladies have lovely personalities, but I was surprised about that! I guess I'm a little more vain and superficial than I'd like to admit.
in the rain!
Ha.
That show is crazy. I said I wasn't going to watch it but those ladies crack me up. I missed the first half when they were rerunning it the other day so I only saw the second and third wives. Not sure if I like the first wife based on the preview of her snippiness at his cute comment. Granted I would be just as snippy but come on, if he still thought you were cute, do you think he'd really need to go find another wife?
I love the one who says,"When you're having trouble with the first two wives, marry a third one." WTF?!?! I guess she caused some trouble because it looks like he's about to marry his fourth. Ha. I also loved how she said she didn't want to be the first wife. Ha.
They are being investigated. They aren't all married, though. The first wife is legally married (in the traditional sense that we all recognize), but the others are not (but they consider themselves married).
I believe they are being investigated to ensure they are filing taxes properly, and because in some states there is a law about how many women can live under one roof with a man without it being considered a brothel (or something to that effect). I seem to remember they had some sort of arrangement in their house to get around this rule. One would hope that they would be very familiar with the laws before putting themselves on national TV.
