So . . .

I took a pregnancy test on Friday.

It was positive.

I go between being super happy and super nervous because of my miscarriage in June. Any post-miscarriage success stories to make me feel better?

Re: So . . .

  • Congrats!!

there are girls on this board who have had m/c and then had kids. don't want to name names since it is there thing to tell.

  • Congrats!!

I miscarried in November and am currently at 36 weeks with an obscenely easy and trouble-free pregnancy (minus some spotting from weeks 4-6 or 7, which nearly killed me, but obviously ended up being no problem).  Personally, the super nervous feeling didn't really go away until I could feel her moving all the time, so my advice would just be to try not to freak yourself out too much.

While some TTCALers can be a little nutso (as seen in the ML run-ins of late), PgAL is actually very helpful for reassurance and helping sort through everything that's going on in your head.

  • Awesome news, congrats!

  • Congratulations!  I know so many women who've had successful pregnancies after a miscarriage.  I understand your anxiety, but I'll think nothing but happy thoughts.
  • Me!

I miscarried in March '09. Now I have a beautiful 7 month old (whose pregnancy involved 3 spotting scares). It's easy to get caught up in the fear, but worrying about another miscarriage won't prevent one and enjoying this pregnancy won't jinx it... so try to enjoy every second. Good luck and a huge congratulations!

  • Thanks, everyone. It's still really early and we're not telling anyone until after our first doctor's appointment (we told everyone  before our last appointment and then had to share the bad news a week later). It's nice to hear some good news from a lot of you.

I lurked occasionally on TTCAL, when they weren't too crazy, and a have been lurking a little bit on PGAL, but there are those women who have had multiple miscarriages that make me nervous. I just want everything to go smoothly, obviously.

  • Congrats! I know it's easier said than done, but the best thing you can do is relax and remind yourself that your miscarriage wasn't your fault in any way. Sometimes those things just happen, and there's no reason why this pregnancy can't turn out perfectly, just like Rosen's did.

Lots of toilet paper your way for a smooth 9 months!

  • Congratulations!

  • I'm so happy for you!  I know a LOT of women who miscarried once and then went on to have completely healthy pregnancies.  Lots of Charmin your way.

  • Congratulations!

TB made me think more than once I was having a m/c, so I stopped looking.

  • Congratulations!  Here's to a happy and healthy nine months!
  • Woo, congrats on a positive test!  I think as long as you stay over here where we have the magical fountain of baby, you'll be fine.  It seems like everybody has a m/c at some point -- you just got yours out of the way right from the start.

  • You're right, Cali. The Caribbean has provided many healthy, beautiful babies so I'd better stay here so I can bask in its warmth and sunshine and drink virgin drinks.
  • Congratulations! I'm vibezing for a nice, easy 9 months for you!

Awesome news and all the best to you!
