We do a family portrait every year, and we always pick a color scheme. We actually did an informal one last year, but the two years before that, we did red, black, grey, and white (pardon the unedited proof):

and light blue, cream, khaki, and brown (one of my favorite "Aunt B" pics of all time):

What should we do this year? I'm kind of thinking black, white, royal purple, and denim... I think jeans and white shirts are cute, but only if you're on a beach or outside somehow... Not inside with a solid background. Any suggestions?

I like family portraits that are so matchy-matchy, but still color coordinated. Here is a blog post that I really like that shows some complimentary colors for group shots.

I only say white because I like how in the first picture some people wore white shirts underneath... that type of look.
