Happy Monday! What did you do fun this weekend?

Happy Monday, all!!

I hope the weather where you live was as beautiful as it was in central Maryland over the weekend! It got a little windy and drizzly on Sunday, but Saturday was pure perfection - bright sunny skies and low 70's...the best :-)

On Saturday, I was supposed to hang out with Mom, but she was on call for work and had to go in, so  H and I attended a Farm Festival at a Farm Museum not far from where we were married, and it was a lot of fun - there was live bluegrass music, hayrides and carriage rides, plenty of up close and personal time with the farm animals, good food, crafts and tours...good fun!

Sunday was a bit drizzly, so we stayed in and watched the Ravens sneak out of Pittsburgh with a win (Woo Hoo!!), and then H had a wake to attend for a friend who sadly died in a car accident last week...oh - and I took my little black dog to the groomer on Sunday, and now he is all cute and smells nice and fruity...lol

All in all, not a bad weekend...what about you ladies???

  • Yes for good weather!! It's finally cooled down (meaning mid-upper 80s for a high, but that's okay with me)... I had to work both Sat and Sun morning. Sat we went to watch the ohio state game with friends and then hung out at the pool w/ margaritas after.

Yesterday I did a whole lot of nothing, yay for being a lazy bum.

Isn't it great to "bum" out on Sundays after a full weekend? I love it :-)

  • Hola from Madrid! I flew out here last night for work, terrorist warnings be damned.

My weekend was truly amazing. There's a couple we're very close friends with, the guy is DH's best friend (would have been his Best Man but he's kind of a flake).  His GF turned 40 yesterday and he's turning 40 in two weeks, so they organized a big bday dinner for Friday night. When we all got to the restaurant, we found out that they'd gotten engaged 20 minutes before leaving for dinner!!! We are so excited. And the groom asked DH to be his best man which is going to be a lot of fun.

What the couple didn't know is that her family also planned a surprise party for Saturday night. So on Saturday night a bunch of us drove out to Long Island to celebrate with them again. They were thrilled that we went all the out there. Then when we got home on Saturday, we logged onto FB, only to find out that yet another one of our friends got engaged!!

On Sunday my town had its local street fair, so we went out to that and bumped into a million people we know. We ended up getting brunch with a few of the friends we'd already seen all weekend. Then I was all about packing and straightening up the house before getting on my flight.

  • Good Morning,

Nothing cool, but we saw The Social Network movie. I must say for 65 Billion Dollars being a Nerd is well worth it. Yes, that is how much  Facebook and Founder Mark Zuckerberg are worth.

Now way couldn't we think of Facebook Right!

Saturday We watch the Cane's Game and Sunday Dinner over hubby's aunt's house.

Hope you all have a great work week.

  • It was our 6 month anniversary this past weekend! It was pretty low key, we went out for a nice brunch and then just spent time together. It was nice :)
  • Yet another quiet weekend here.  The weather was absolutely goregous! Saturday hubby had to work in the morning and again in the afternoon, then we went out to dinner.  Sunday we cleaned up around the apt a little and I did lots of cooking...banana nut bread, monster cookies and a rotisserie pork roast.
    Anniversary

  • Saturday I cleaned up the house, did laundry, cleaned out the garden, did some sewing, and rested.

Sunday went to church, watched the Packer game, and basically parked my butt on the couch most of the day.  It was a pretty lazy weekend.

This coming weekend is supposed to be FABULOUS.  I'm looking forward to it!

  • Sat DH and I did yard work, washed the cars, and then went to a college football game.

Sunday was a lazy day, filled with naps, fixing a fence board our dog broke, and catching up on shows!

The weather was okay, it rained on Sunday morning and then was very hot and humid the rest of the day.

  • I saw baby Gus I'm in love!!! He's the best!

AND on Sunday I roasted my first whole chicken and it came out great!! (had to clean out the innards and everything!!)

  • Saturday: DH took our puppy for his follow up appointment while I did some cleaning. We then ran a lot of errands including Bed Bath and Beyond (got my kitchen aid mixer with the ice cream maker as a free gift of purchase), Hobby Lobby, and the grocery store. Late that afternoon we took our puppy to his graduation party for his puppy training class. It was fun watching him play with dogs twice his size and was a bonus to get free items. We got home and took a nap, which I woke up sick.

Sunday: DH mowed the yard while I did more cleaning in the house (or tried to since I am suffering from a lovely head cold). I did manage to go out side and help pull weeds and trim plants...Then we were bums and watched football the rest of the day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • It's a crisp, sunny fall day in metro Detroit!!!! :)

This past weekend was my 20th class reunion from high school and I had SO much fun! My hubby did too, it was funny despite knowing my 2 childhood friends' husbands that we went wtih, he also knows a guy I graduated with (the guy is a customer of his) and he also used to work with one of our cheerleaders' husband as well. So he actually knew a few people.  It was a great night of catching up with people.

Sunday was a bad day.  We woke up and logged on to FB to find out - thru FB - that SIL was in the ER since Saturday afternoon.  And nobody called us. So we spent a couple hours at the hospital with some of my ILs, then came home only to turn the house upside down 10 times looking for his keys.  We never found them, none of my friends picked them up by accident and they weren't found at the hotel where the reunion was held. I just found out it's going to cost $150 to replace the spare key to my vehicle as it has an alarm on it (and a computer chip; we both drive a Ford) and about $80 for his truck key, which the spare has to go to his boss since it's a company vehicle.  Sigh....it's always close to the holidays when this stuff happens, isn't it??

How awful!!! Hope all was well with your SIL - I love FB as much as the next gal, but somethings really do need to be managed face to face...and yes, this time of year brings out the bugaboo's in a lot of areas - stay strong, sending some good 'ol nestie vibes your way :-)

  • We had a good weekend!  We went to an Oktoberfest, which is always fun!  Other than that, both DH and I worked all weekend, it's a busy time of year for both of us :P

  • Saturday morning I got up early (after getting home at 2am from my work trip) to take DH to the aiport - he's in New Jersey all week at the family beach house with his brother, doing a whole lot of nothin'.  I met my ma for some lunch and shopping, then came home and took the dogs to the dog park.  That night I met some friends who were fresh off a healthy round of tailgating (our college team WON, big scoring game!!!), we all went to a karaoke bar to make fun of the regulars.

Sunday I was lazy - woke up at 10am, caught up on my DVR'd TV, then took the dogs to the dog park again.  Did some Target shopping, and watched Biggest Loser while eating ice cream.  Good night.
