Just our luck!
We are headed to CA later this week and will be spending a few days at the beach in Northern CA. DH plans to surf, I was hoping to relax in the sun and catch up on some reading.
I just checked the forecast and while it is going to be in the low to mid 70s here in MN, it is going to be 66-68 in CA.

Very true, Lily! Plus such weather is better for exploring and hiking - which is what I want to do.
DH, however, wants to spend as much time at the beach (surfing) as possible - and to a certain extent, that is the purpose of this trip. I figured as long as we were at the beach, I could try to add a little color to my pale white legs -but now it looks as if it will be a bit chilly for that. Oh well, probably better for my health that I don't try to tan!
Thankfully only two days of the trip are at the beach - the rest is in Sacramento and San Francisco - and Sacramento will be in the 80s. Lovely!
As for what I am reading - Atonement by Ian McEwan. I've had it for ages and it has always been "next" on the list but bumped for various reasons. I am a little into in already but feel I need a good chunk of open time to really get into it properly. From friends who have read it - it is supposed to be great!
