Or at least as good as Monday morning can be.
My house is freezing. Our back room is currently completely torn up. As in, exposed dirt and just studs with siding. It got down to about 4?C last night (or 39?F) and was 12?C (54?F) in my house when I got up today. Needless to say, there will be a big push to get that room insulated this week so that I can turn the furnace on without wasting energy (and money) like a mofo.
Derek and I spent the day with Tim and Shannon yesterday, Derek and Tim went golfing and I hung out with Shannon and the girls. We met up with them at the hospital and were met with the biggest, bestest smile every from Mr. Ryley. That totally made my day. We'd been at a fundraiser for them the night before and were happy to a part of a group that made over $8000 for them. Hopefully it will make their lives a little easier.
How did the weekend go for everyone else?
Re: Good Morning
We had a great weekend. We attended a wedding out of town. It was small and intimate and we had a great time. Yesterday my mom stopped by for a little bit and then we watched that terrible Bears game last night.
We had low temperatures last night as well. I brought my plants in the house last night and now need to transplant them, so that they can stay inside this winter.
How great about the fundraiser!
Our weekend was good. It was a long one, we went to H's first ever family reunion in NY. I like them well enough, but a weekend was just the right amount of time -- anymore time and they would've been driving me batty. They want to go to Cancun for a week for the next reunion.
On Saturday, we got to see some friends who live in the area, so that was very cool. Our really sweet friend gave us a tour of Cornell, and another friend had dinner with us at a restaurant that H loved when he was in college. Sunday we drove home -- uneventful, and we were able to get some chores out of the way since we got home relatively early.
Now to survive the week! And then a three-day weekend.
That so good about the fundraiser!
I'm also suffering through a lack of heat right now - though in my school rather than my house. My office is currently sitting at a balmy 14 degrees. Not fun!
Uhm, my in-laws leave tomorrow (yay!). I had to break it to my FIL that he was being racist in the way he treated every Canadian of a different decent as a non-Canadian. That was... erm... awkward and heated.
Did I mention a yay at them leaving?

Raynes that is great news on the fundraiser!!
I had a very exausting weekend. Saturday we had HESTEC an all day community even for science and engineering here on campus. The organization I benlong to hosted a fundraiser to help raise money for our annual concrete canoe competition.
This morning I had to get up early to buy new tires for my car and now I'm broke. This is when I wish I had a credit card.
We had the surprise party for Russ on Saturday and he enjoyed himself. Poker nights are going to happen a bit more frequently in this house I think.
Yesterday, Russ slept in till 1:30pm and then we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. So much fun watching the kids play the way they were.
Raynes: So glad the fundraiser was such a success.
For the second weekend in a row, we ate and drank way to much. Enjoyed making dinner on Saturday and Sunday, to get pictures for the August Cooks blog.
Friday night was super relaxing with just the hubs after a long day of rain and flooding.
Saturday I had to work, which was as usual, not fun at all. Thankfully, it was sunny and some old friends popped in for Homecoming to say hello. We followed up the day with some friends coming over for game night, and to sadly watch the Yankees lose their shot at 1st place. Now they face the Twins, and I'm not so sure they'll pull it off. Here's to hoping and lots of margaritas for good luck!
Sunday I slept in 'til about 11 and then headed to Ikea with a friend of mine, where I picked up this little beauty, but in black, to go in the dining room.
It gives us twice as much storage as we had, and it also got DH really excited to add another piece that matches. We are well on our way to getting rid of some hand-me-down furniture from about 4 years ago when we moved in.
Good morning ladies. Hope you are having a better morning than I am. I woke up late since I didn't sleep much last night, ran into tons of traffic, and got to work late. I then proceeded to have another bout of morning sickness in the community bathroom. I think no one knew it was me in there.
The weather here has thankfully cooled down and it's actually starting to feel like fall. I have two pretty big projects due this week but I think I got it under control. Have a great day ladies!
