Dog Problem

So this dog followed me running yesterday, and she is really sweet and I was mad because she almost got hit by vehicles, so I put her in our yard. I went and looked for the owner, but no one has seen her before. What should I do? Put up flyers and an ad in the paper?

Re: Dog Problem

  • I'm assuming she didn't have a collar?  Have you tried taking her to a vet to see if she's possibly microchipped or calling local pounds to see if someone called in about a missing dog?  Otherwise I might try posting on Craigslist and putting up a flyer maybe, but I wouldn't give out too much info about the dog besides general things and make sure if someone comes to claim it, they properly can id the dog.

  • She has a halter thing around her chest, but no ID. I put an ad up on craigslist, and I will probably call the pound, that's a good idea.
  • You could also call the police and report that you have the dog.  If I lost my dog I'd call everyone under the sun, including the police, to try and find it.

  • Agreed with getting the pup to a vet or humane society to check for a microchip.
