Halloween

So I was looking online for costumes for the kids.  (Preferably one for the little one that has a HAT.)  And I think I found them.  And I think D and I are going to dress up, too.

Re: Halloween

  • P.S.  Why is it that most of the Adult Women's Costumes are trampy?  Not that there's anything WRONG with it, but not all of us are built to wear that crap.

Srsly.  I would like to be ABLE to pull off the slutty versions, but 1) I am going to be with KIDS all night and 2) I do NOT have the figure to pull off some of that stuff.

I recall a couple of years ago, the now 15 year old that lives next door to my BFF had costume problems.  Her mom was pissed since most of the stuff that would fit her daughter, tall for her age at 12, were straight up tramp.

  • Very cute!

I personally love the trampy costumes for adult parties, as long as it suits your body type. Ive lost 30 something lbs since last Halloween so Im excited to go out & sluutty for the night.

As for neighborhood trick or treating or even handing out candy in those costumes no thank you.

Like I said, not that there's anything WRONG with them, but the selection is limited for someone that can't wear them.  Ya know?

Trust me, if I could wear something like that, I would (if the kids weren't with us).

My problem is that whoever makes the costumes, designs them for thinner people.  And in the US today, that's a much smaller percentage of the female population.

  • See, this is a good one.   I love this.  It's Venus, the goddess of love.  And it covers legs.  HOWEVER, I don't think the neckline would be good for taking kids around collecting candy.  Not with my massive knockers sticking out.  Not appropriate.

Not to mention, it's already chilly here now.  By Halloween, it would be freezing.  And then the kids would want to know what the pointy things were in the top.  Oy.

This is why I usually avoid store bought costumes and attempt to create my own via Wal-Mart, Goodwill, and my closet.

  • Love it!

And I'm with you on the slutty thing.  There's nothing wrong with it for girls that can wear that stuff. However, I can gurantee you that no one wants to see my fat sticking out everywhere.  Even the plus size costumes are slutty.  I usually end up pulling pieces from different places and sewing some of it.

  • Knibs- Super Cute costume idea! Reminds me of the year my mom dressed our whole family up Alice in Wonderland style. My mom and dad were playing cards, I was Alice and my sister was supposed to be the white rabbit but ended up throwing a fit and went as a cowboy instead.

RE: Slutty Costumes: Whenever I see them online I think "Oh yeah, I could pull that off" but as soon as I get it on I feel like a total moron. Maybe it's my lack of giant hooters or the spandex material or something else but every time I feel so stoopid!

Because some of us are not creative enough to wear anything else.  Every time I see those costumes I think, if I only had boobs.  Alas, some things were just not meant to be.

And you could totally wear the Venus one if you put a tank or sports bra under it!

  • toooooooooooooo cute!!!!!

  • Soo cute. I wish I could pull off those slutty outfits too but I cant. I have no clue what im gonna be this year.

  • I love the crayon family! I still have no idea what I'm going to be. We're moving into the house on Halloween, so maybe I'll just be a frazzled new homeowner...wear some overalls with paint smeared all over them. I don't usually do the slutty thing. Plus, it's too cold in ME if you're going to spend any time outside!

When I was 12 or 13 I went trick-or-treating for the last time with my friend. I was Xena Warrior Princess and she was Gabrielle. We made the costumes ourselves and in no way attempted to be slutty, but apparently the skirts and boots plus our new teen bodies made us look older than we were. People refused to give us candy, saying we were too old to be trick-or-treating! We ended up feeling so embarrassed that we just gave up.

But now practically all 12-year-olds have slutty costumes and no one bats an eye.
