Garth found his body on a street near our home. Looks like one of our guests left the door open and he slipped out. We are just sad. I will miss my baby!

I'm in shock and can't believe it! I'm soooo very sorry for your loss...my heart breaks for you! =(
Thanks guys! And the guest was a rude guest too - the one who most probably just left the side door open, when he went to answer a call outside! I can't believe I didn't see when he went out or when the door was left open. We are racking our brains trying to see what we could have done to prevent this.
He was hit by a car on some street not too far away. Because I didn't see the body, I am doing ok. Garth was shaken...he handled the body.

ooh Karllen...that is so sad! I'm with Danielle...my biggest fear is someone (or even myself) letting one of my babies out. I'd be devastated if anything happened to them. I feel so bad for you and Garth. =(
The screen door in our new place doesn't close all the way unless you pull it closed and lock it. But, yesterday I left the wood door open 'cause I knew DH was not too far behind and in that time my big guy (almost 20 lbs.) pushed his head through the door. Thank god I heard him trying to push his way through 'cause I came running like a lunatic and scared the crap out of him...thankfully, he pulled his head out and ran up the stairs towards me. A lesson learned on my part...don't trust that my cats can't push their way through the door.
