Crisis! My sister's bakery is closing & she's getting married next month!
My sister booked Maribelle over a year ago-today she got a letter telling her they're closing next week. She's having a huge 350person wedding Thanksgiving weekend. Any suggestions on who we can call with super short notice? They suggested Patricia's -we'd rather use someone else.
Re: Crisis! My sister's bakery is closing & she's getting married next month!
Jerry's Cheesecakes. They dont just do cheesecake, they do cake as well (their red velvet is amazing!).
I cant believe Maribelle's is closing, and how very unprofessional of them to cancel on your sister. Wow.
eta* If you cant find anyone to accommodate you, have you thought about Sam's club? They can do wedding cakes, and imo their cake tastes really good.
We used Tres Belle (Tracy Bellman) and everything was perfect and I still get compliments on how good the cake was.
I would look into her - she is very accomodating and incredibly sweet.
Don't know anyone in the Dayton area, but I do know two people who do cakes out of their homes (one being the lady that did our wedding cake - which was awesome, BTW).
They're located in Harrison, OH (west side of Cincy) and Brown County, OH (way east side of Cincy), respectively.
Let me know if you want either of their contact information.
GL!
THIS!! I am sure she would do whatever she could to help you out!
wow... I can't believe they are closing and how rude of them to do this!
We got our wedding cake from Patricia's and it was delicous and they did a great job! Good Luck.
Knowing that, we used Incredible Endings in Northern KY and she is awesome. Might be worth a shot if she doesn't find anything else. She delivered and set up our cake and we got married in Indiana, so I know she travels. GL!
My vote would be for Spoon Fulla Sugar. We met with the Incredible Endings lady and her house was a disaster. We sat there and looked through a "portfolio" of pictures from magazines and listened to her rave about how she was the best for an hour. Then she brought out the cake for us to try...chocolate, week old chocolate cake...I hate chocolate, much less week old chocolate. We asked about trying other flavors and were told we could try anything that is leftover from what she uses to make other peoples' cake. However, if no one was having the flavor combination, we wouldn't be able to try it. Big F in customer service, IMO. We also met with Bonbonneri and I wasn't all that impressed. Some of their stuff tasted really good, but they were not very flexible. I felt they were arrogant and overpriced. I have had Jerry's Cheesecakes cheesecake at several gatherings and it was very good. I can't speak for his wedding cakes as I have never had one. Best of luck to your sister!!
My Blog
Call Carol or Maggie at the Bon Bonerie. Carol helped us with our cake and she's FABULOUS!! The cake looked and tasted amazing and they are super flexible. I'm sure they will do their best to get her on their books especially if she tells them the situation.
Best of Luck,
- BV
