HH's birthday is coming up October 20th and I need ideas. My original plan was to get him a guitar, but we're tight on money at the moment and can't afford a good one. We're going to be buying him hunting camo here within the next week or so and he said that could be his present (that stuff can get expensive) but I still want to get him a surprise to open. Nothing big, he really needs clothes, but I buy him clothes every year. I'm thinking a hoodie (he doesn't have any and its getting cold here) and a hunting knife? He doesn't play video games or anything, he doesn't drink and he doesn't smoke. Any ideas???

Re: Need ideas!
Ooohhh... I like the camera idea. Adam's birthday is the 17th so maybe I could get him one of those.
Katy, what about an Ipod or something (if he doesn't have one already)
Ooooh, I love getting Matt presents! But he's so easygoing that I could probably wrap up a rock and give it to him and he'd be excited and treasure it forever.
Does your HH already have a Leatherman? I gave Matt one of those for Christmas a couple of years ago. If you go the knife/Leatherman route, a cute thing that you can do is to incorporate the old superstition about giving sharp objects. They used to say that you couldn't actually give a knife or scissors or the like because it would be sure to cut the love/friendship. So what you'd do was give the recipient a penny and then tell them that they had the option to use it to buy the fabulous wrapped surprise. Matt got a big kick out of that.
haha that is too cute! if he would love it, then go for it!
