traveling to NYC from PA question
hi ladies! my friend and i are going to a taping of the Rachael Ray show soon and we are trying to figure the best way into the city. i have been doing research and came across the Journal Square PATH station and the Hoboken PATH station. is this a good way to get into the city? the studios are on E 44th street and we can get off the PATH at 33rd street. i figure from there we can either take the subway or a cab the rest of the way. is there a better way you suggest getting to the city? what about park and rides? i can't find any info on that online. also, do any of you know how parking is near these two PATH stations? are there parking garages for the public or are the permit only? i really appreciate your help!!
Re: traveling to NYC from PA question
Amtrak has several routes that come into nyc from PA and NJ. Check amtraks website for more info. The PATH is also an option but you'd have to drive into NJ and find either a parking garage or parking near the station. Once your in the city walking/cab/subway are all perfectly fine options for getting around.
The Amtrak trains come into Penn Station.
Just realized your coming from PA not necessarily Philly. That said Hoboken will be a nightmare for parking. But I believe Secaucus has a garage.

i grew up in NEPA, and went to penn state, so i have a good deal of experience travelling between PA and NYC. if you are not going to drive, i would highly recommend taking greyhound. it lets you off at port authority, where it is extremely easy to get a cab, or hop the shuttle train to grand central, which is close to the studio you're going to.

Not sure where in central PA you are but have you considered the bus? It would leave you at Port Authority, which runs along 8th Avenue from like 39th to 44th Streets and you can take the cross town bus at 42nd Street.
