vent. Birthdays and planning

Plans have now been changed for MY birthday lunch on Saturday. Angry

This is a principle of the matter kind of thing.

My BIL is unhealthily obsessed with football. So, obviously, right now, he's in overdrive on the weekends watching his 3 TVs in his L.R. They do not have a DVR. Its a cost factor.

My birthday is Friday and we all decided we would do a lunch or dinner on Saturday. I chose the spot and made late lunch reservations. I just got a call from my mom that the time I chose coincides with a football game. The horror. Confused OK, fine. I'll change it to a late lunch, early dinner time.

I'm not changing it again. I don't care if Heisman himself is resurrected on Saturday. We're going.

I am so glad I picked a nerd and not a sport-nut. I have no clue how my sister handles this sh^t.

    Wow, rude much?  If it's that big of a deal for him to not miss a game, then he doesn't have to go.  I think it's bad enough that you had to plan your b-day lunch/dinner, let alone schedule it around him and now you have to change it?  And who doesn't have DVR?!  It costs hardly anything and is so much easier than watching (seriously) 3 TV's?!  Yikes....that would not be allowed in this house!

    Wow... I wouldn't have changed the plans at all. Period. It's a football game and nobody he personally knows is even playing. Sorry, if it's that important, he can stay his happy a$$ at home.

    Oh goodness. You shouldn't have to change but I have been there. We honeymooned in Brazil during the Skins NFL bye week. Our trip to Turkey was planned around the bye week as well. Hmm

    yeah.  I got a football nut too.  In fact, I'm going to my brother's solo this weekend because it's a home UGA game and DH has tickets/won't miss it.  Luckily my bff's wedding is an away game otherwise I'd be traveling all the way to Raleigh and attending the wedding solo.  Ugh.

    I'm so thankful that we are not a house of football nuts. DH will occasionally get sucked into a game, but I can usually peel him off the couch with the promise of a trip to Home Depot to smell the tools.

    Like I said. Ain't playing this game. Nu uh. I chose to not marry this type of person. I will not rearrange my life for a game!!!

    Wow, that guy has some serious issues. I'm so glad DH doesn't give 2 hoots for sports. Even when the World Cup was on, I think he only watched about a half a game, for a friends sake.

    Um, that sounds like my husband! It's nice to see a fellow skins fan in the south though!!
