Hey A! You mentioned packing in your last post. I would start packing sooner rather than later. It may keep you sane in the long run! We started packing about 3 weekends before our move. We started with the things we knew we could do without. The weekend before the move we packed up the kitchen and just ordered in food and ate leftovers from family. By the end, we were packing up the necessities. I hope this helps you! Good luck with your move!
Have you started looking into places? Do you have a place yet?
Re: akardisco**
Thanks for the input! It was actually a really helpful reminder. We've moved early year for the past 4 years and we ALWAYS put off packing too long. It's always a scramble those last few days!
I'm glad to hear your move went so well though! You need to get some photos posted for us! Are you guys loving the new place?
We do have a place. We will just be renting for now. It is a brand new duplex. It won't be finished until mid-November, but I can't wait!! We're moving to a small town, so it'll be a bit of an adjustment for me. The town we live in now is probably considered "small" but not compared to where we are moving.
The new place is a little smaller than I'd like, but since it's brand new, I can't complain. It will be nice to be the first people living there. Thanks again for the advice!!
When H and I moved in May, I think I packed one box in early April (about six weeks out) and then gave up and did the rest the week before. Big mistake. Pack the things you never use, or don't need as you can....like Christmas decorations, get those packed nicely and ready to move. Any other decorations as well. Your summer clothing that you won't be wearing. Beach towels, swimsuits, etc.
