Travel advice for a Portland nestie

I'm going to be in Rochester in early December. This is my 6th trip there and the 4th one during the first week in December. I'm changing it up this time and I'll have a full free day in ROC to look around and explore. Is there something that I should do? Usually when I've been there in December I'm huddling in my hotel room (I have to hide from the evil white stuff on the ground) or looking for a sports bar to catch a good game. This year a friend from Albany will join me for my free time and they have a car (this means that I can ditch my co-workers and travel freely). Any recs would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

Re: Travel advice for a Portland nestie

  • The Memorial Art Gallery and the George Eastman House are both nice.  Park Ave has some fun shops and restaurants/bars if it's nice enough to walk around and the first Thursday in December is usually their holiday kick off so there are specials in all the shops, Victorian carolers on the corners and Santa comes by on a fire truck too.  I'll see what else I can think of (I too tend to hide from the snow so I'm typically house bound by December!)  :)
