Totally getting sick...

Ugh.  I can feel it coming, and there's nothing I can do to stop it now.  I know that during your first year teaching, you usually get sick a lot more than the other years, so I was expecting to get sick.  However, I hate it when you can feel it coming on.  I have a fever, getting the chills, sore all over.  I had 3 students in my grades go home from school last week with a fever of 100+, and several other students in the school had the same deal.  Great.

Good thing I have an amazing DH who is making me perogies (comfort food major), hot chocolate, and snuggling with me and the dog to keep me warm.

  • I am sorry that you are getting sick.  On the bright side, after the first year or two of teaching you will build up a great immunity and rarely get sick.  (At least I did).  I would constantly bring home germs to others, but it would rarely affect me b/c I build up such an immunity.  So, consider this year worth it so that you can have a lifelong of good health.

  • Ugh!  I am also a first year teacher down by Springfield and there is definately something going around central IL!  I had 4 students out today and a few more that should have definately stayed home!  I am just stuffy but otherwise fighting it off this time.  Hope you feel better soon!
