Anyone have Dyson DC24?

What do you think of it?  Is it worth the price?

Re: Anyone have Dyson DC24?

  • I have the Dyson DC25... and....i......LOVE IT.   The rolling ball is great for manuevering into the tiniest of spaces.  Its light!  And nothing sucks like a Dyson.  :)   I love that it is bagless, and that the filter is good forever.  (Every 6 months, you'll want to hand wash it in some warm water with mild soap.)  Some site reviews say that they don't like the length of the cord, but it truly is long enough to reach huge areas.  My bedroom is 26' x 20' and it does a great job.   Dyson really utilizes every square inch of their vaccuums to make them as efficient as possible.

Worth every penny.  And then some.

  • P.S. Especially with having a baby, you will be HORRIFIED at what comes out of your carpet when you use a Dyson.  We built our house 4 years ago and we never wear shoes inside.  I didn't think our carpets would be so bad at all.  Just as a test, I vaccuumed my whole house with my previous vac (a Hoover Windtunnel, rated #1 by consumer reports a few years ago)....and then I used the Dyson right after.... UGH.  Gross.   But much happier now.

  • My mom used to have to buy vacuums every year, it seemed. They were ALWAYS breaking down or something. We had 2-3 cats growing up, so we had our good share of pet hair. She kept saying she wasnt going to buy a Dyson because it was sooo expensive, and she was the vacuum queen of death.

Well, we bought her one for Christmas when I was in High school (Which was over 4 years ago!)  and she has had it since. She had to replace the hose I think a year ago, but it was only like 12 bucks. She has never been happier, and it was one of the older models!

So. I believe if you do buy a Dyson, you will not regret it. :)

  • My parents have it and really like it.  They have a dog and a cat (who shed a lot) and carpet/tile/linoleum in their house and it works fabulous!  I actually recommended Dyson to them...I have the Animal (the old school one..not the ball) and I love it!  I've had it for over 4 years and will not go back to any other brand!
  • i have the dc14 and love it.  i wouldn't buy any other brand of vacuum now.
  • My parents have a Dyson, not sure which one though. Growing up it seemed like they had to replace their vacuum every year and replaced the belts and other parts multiple times per year. But then they got the Dyson and have had it for about 9 years now and it still works wonderfully! They finally had a part break on it but it was only cosmetic ( plastic cracked). I am amazed that it is still working and still cleans wonderfully!! They are well worth the investment if you have the money!
