I hate Greg a little bit...

and I realize that this is only probably going to get worse.

I'm going through my whole "night time routine"-- make up off, wash face, moisturize, eye cream, floss, brush, mouthwash, body cream, bed.

I walk into our bedroom and Greg is just sitting there. Already done. No nothing. Now, obviously he brushes his teeth... but that's it! Then I start thinking about when we get ready-- I get up an extra 45 minutes before him so I can put my make up on, straighten my hair, etc. He gets up, showers or doesn't shower, shaves or doesn't shave-- doesn't matter! He still looks good!

And you know what-- it's not going to make a bit of difference! In 30 years he's still going to look like Harrison Ford (like his dad) and I'm still going to look like the sad, droopy face cartoon dog. All the face cream in the world won't hold these cheeks up forever.

Freaking pisses me off!

  • Men suck.

I don't do a whole night time routine...I just brush my teeth and take out my contacts if I'm not working the next day (otherwise I just use eye drops in the morning...putting in my contacts takes 2 minutes I don't usually have - I know, call me crazy)

I think Adam and I are similar on the get ready time, unless I blow dry and straighten my hair, and that's just a PITA.

  • and he'll love you anyway!

It's the same for us. I have to wash, dry, and straighten my hair everyday (unless I don't leave the house or am just running out quickly). My makeup takes all of 5 min, but I hate that I need 45 min to get ready. I chopped off my hair after the wedding, and I'm considering growing it long again so I have the option to put it in a ponytail!

  • Totally with you on this one! Matt sometimes doesn't even brush his teeth at night!! He just takes off his clothes and crawls in bed!! What?!? (Yes, I think it's gross.  No, I don't kiss him on the mouth.  Yes, I get on him about it all the time because I'm a serious teeth-brusher). Meanwhile I'm using my makeup wipes, then washing my face, brushing my teeth, taking out my contacts, making my lunch, etc etc etc.  Sometimes....we go upstairs "for bed" at the same time, and by the time I get in bed, he's ALREADY ASLEEP.  Sheesh.

  • This is why I often wish I was a guy.  They have it so much easier.  I would love to just hop in the shower, brush my teeth, put on clothes, and be ready in the morning.  And I often complain about getting ready for bed.  When I'm tired I really don't want to go through all that crap.

  • Doesn't it suck!!!  Sometimes I just want to shave my head!  I have super thick hair and slightly curly hair.  I don't blow dry my hair because then it gets all frizzy.  So I have to plan on washing it hours before we go out.  Then spend half an hour straightening it.  And in the mornings he gets up, brushes his teeth, and maybe shaves.  I get up.  Take the dogs out.  Get dressed.  Battle my hair.  Feed all the dogs, cats, turtles, fish, and birds.  Then scoop litter boxes.  And finally straighten up the house.  Grrrr!!!!!  It would be so nice to be a guy for a day!
  • Ben is always in bed before me, even if I go upstairs early! I have to take out my contacts, take off my makeup, and brush my teeth. All he does is brush his teeth and jump in bed. I take a shower every morning, take the dog out and feed him, dry and straighten my hair, put on my makeup, iron my clothes, and make my lunch. All he does is put on his clothes, make his lunch and walk out the door....

  • This is Dave and I exactly.  He calls it my "routine"...but I have a whole process that I go through too, whereas he just brushes his teeth, takes off his clothes and crawls into bed.  However, he does the nightly chores while I get ready for bed, so it is a tradeoff (tidying the kitchen, turning off all the lights, locking the door) and in the morning he gets up about an hour and a half before he leaves for work because he likes to get up and eat breakfast while watching Sports Center.  He HATES being rushed in the morning, whereas I hate getting up early.  So he does the whole feeding the dog and letting her out business.  We don't take her for walks anymore since she gets so much exercise chasing squirrels and cats outside, but when we lived in an apartment it was always his job to walk her in the mornings.

  • I hear you!!! Matt taunts me every morning when I'm spritzing my hair with water, working gel through it, and hauling out my blow dryer. He'll wander in and say "Oh, I need to 'do my hair,' too." Then he splashes tap water on his head, ruffles his hair, and dances around a little bit, saying "Oh, it's so hard! Oh, such a chore!" And then he walks out the door. I try to sic the cat on him, but it doesn't work.

I seriously get up 45 minutes before he does and he still gets out of the house before I do. It's not AS bad at night, but I still take at least twice as long, what with contacts and makeup and everything.
