Scary and Frustrating

I was woken up this morning at 4:00 by a woman screaming outside my window to call 911.  B and I called and reported the incident, as did our neighbors, and the woman herself a few minutes later.  Our neighbor even went outside to make sure she was ok.  I'm not exactly sure what happened, but what I could glean from what the woman later told the police (still outside my window), her boyfriend had stolen her credit card (or something like that).  She also told the police that this wasn't the first time such an incident has happened.  The police told her that she should press charges, but she refused and told them she just wanted to go home and go to sleep.

I hope for her sake that she does something to prevent such an incident from happening again.  This boyfriend clearly isn't worth it.  Also, this might sound mean, but there's no need to wake up the entire neighborhood for a free ride home from the police.  And I'm sure the police have better things to do.

Re: Scary and Frustrating

  • I would've walked out there and given her a piece of my mind. When someone screams like that, I'd assume someone has been assaulted, not that your credit card has been stolen by a scum bag that you asked to be a part of your life.

Don't feel bad for thinking the same thing. Highly inappropriate for her to be screaming like that.

I agree with all of this.

  • I'm with snoopy. I would have been very angry with her because I would have also assumed assault. It's not cool to wake up everyone in the neighborhood for something like that.
  • I agree - making such a commotion over your credit card?  Really - if you're screaming for help like that it better be real, and you better be ready to press charges.  Ridiculous at 4am.
