Sappy AW: I love Thanksgiving weekend
My hometown's Fall Fair is Thanksgiving weekend and this is the first year that Lila will "get" what's going on.
I'm downright giddy with excitement. As a kid, the excitement of the fall fair was second only to Christmas. Seriously I was SO into it as a kid. I put stuff in every category (art, baking, crafts...I even ran home one year when i was 7 to chop off some of my mom's marigolds and entered them int he horticultural department) I entered my hamster in the pet show (taught it tricks, dressed it up) and then (much to my embarrassment in my twenties) was in the Fall Fair pageant. I came in second, I still believe I didn't win because I don't come from a family of farmers.
Anyways, I can't wait to take Lila on the rides and show her stuff and let her try cider and show her off to old friends. It's like a full circle thing in life. Sappy.
