F/U Dog Problem and a New Bad Neighbor Story

So I gave a bit of an update in my page from earlier but I thought I'd let you know.  The reason the dog was being kept outside was because he brought a crapton of fleas with him and the neighbors sprayed with RAID whenever they went to work so the dog stayed outside to be away from it.  Today a pest control guy came and sprayed it because the RAID wasn't working.  And they've treated the dog so hopefully soon he'll be inside more often.

Only now I'm paranoid about fleas in my house.  I think I even saw one already!  So I ordered more Critter Oil so when it gets in the dog is getting doused and so is the rest of the apartment.

But I got another GREAT neighbor story.  We have new people living the one floor door and one door over.  The way the apartment is set up is 6 apartments, two on each floor, share a stairway.  Anyway, these people JUST moved in about a week ago and all the guy does is sit on his balcony chain smoking, which makes the stairwell smell lovely.  Then today I go to take Boo for his morning walk, almost get to the second floor landing when I see glass EVERYWHERE!  Somehow they managed to bust out one of the windows on their apartment door and the glass scattered all over the landing.  I had to pick up Boo (not easy for me with only one arm) and carry him downstairs.

The reason this annoys me, though, is they got plywood to cover the broken window.  So, they took the time to cover the window but not the two seconds it would take to sweep the landing?  Great neighbors!  I just don't get people sometimes.  So inconsiderate!

I want a house.  Bad.

Re: F/U Dog Problem and a New Bad Neighbor Story

  • Jaye, sorry you are going through this.  It gets a LITTLE better with the house here, but not a whole lot.  I gotta say, since the houses are all built ON TOP of one another, you are literally looking into your neighbors house all the time, and them yours.  It's hard to find a house with any space in between (sorry I am very frustrated because last night was an especially bad night of sleep..dogs barking all night and all morning).  We get cigarette butts from our neighbor who apparently flicks them over..We get lights shining in our bedroom when they leave their back lights on, dogs barking constantly, people blocking your driveway with their cars, you name it..People are inconsiderate a-holes.  I need to live on a ranch somewhere with no neighbors for miles..:)

  • I don't know if this interests you, but I know of a house for rent up in Cave Creek.  Really nice, a bit more isolated (but still with neighbors), 5 bedrooms... I know the person who owns it and if I could get out of my lease I'd rent it myself!
  • Oh Jaye I just saw this!  Do you know if it is still available? That is one of the areas we are targeting although we would have to break our lease..

  • Let me ask Cody when he gets home!  It may be worth breaking the lease, it's in such a nice area!
  • Great thanks!  I sent you a PM on facebook-we may have an "out" of our current lease!  Talk to you soon.
