Meal Planning

I am so proud of myself, I have meal planned for SIX weeks, stuck to it and have not repeated a dish!

Re: Meal Planning

  • Mind sharing?? :)  That's amazing, we repeat a TON of stuff and it gets boring after a while!  Good for you!! :)

  • I have started this, I only have two weeks done, but I might be stealing a few ideas from your meal plan for the next few weeks.

  • Amazing!!!  I need to try this.  Half the time I get home from work and realize I didn't get meat out to thaw and have no idea what I'm going to cook (or defrost!).
  • This makes me jealous!!  It could never happen at our house.  P doesn't eat pork or beef and there are only so many things that you can do with fish, chicken and turkey.  We have a pretty good variety but not repeating for 6 weeks would be almost impossible.
  • Awesome! I've tried meal planning but never get organized enough for it. When I do finally get a few weeks done I never stick to it.

  • B says we eat way to much chicken. He isnt allowed to have red meat except one to two times a week. I do what I can with turkey, but he always says it taste funny. I cant eat fish, so that is out and he doesnt really like pork, so that is out. I think I do an OK job at cooking dinner. Of course, I have to throw in those silly little meals every once in a while, but B2 loves them as well and B.
  • Holy cow that is awesome!  I need to start meal planning, but I find that if I meal plan I spend more $$ on groceries then if I just get a few things each week and make do with what I have.  That's great that you didn't repeat things though.

  • Trish, I only buy one week at a time. Believe it or not, I dont spend more. I think I spend less and I def. waste less.
  • I guess, I always spent more because of more ingredients to buy for the recipes that I'm using.  I bet if I really got good at it and stuck to it, it would help with cost for sure...might have to try it again.
