Raising Hope? (and Glee too)

it's on after Glee.

last week's episode was hilarious and this week was just *meh* but Maw Maw on it makes the whole show worth watching. she's all kinds of wrong!

what did you think of Glee last night? i didn't think it was super great and not because i'm not spiritual/religious. i just thought it was a little over the top when they were all in kurt's dad's hospital room even after they knew kurt's feelings. i don't think real friends would do that. but hey, it's just a show. your thoughts?

Re: Raising Hope? (and Glee too)

  • I want to like Raising Hope because I love Martha Plimpton (the mom.)  I feel the same way.  The pilot was eh, last week was much better (I loved the daycare lady) and this week eh again.

I hope it can get funnier/more clever in the weeks to come.

lars saw her on the TV and said, "OMG, i HATE that lady!" and i said, "who?" and he said, "that mom lady. i hate her! she bugs the sh!t out of me."

    : )

  • But she was in THE GOONIES!!! The most holy movie of my generation.  Geeked

When it Glee NOT over the top?  :-)

I chuckled every time Finn prayed to "Cheesus Christ".  Hah.

Overall I thought this episode had a lot more substance than the Britney episode so that was good.

Does anyone else fast forward through Rachel Berry's solos?  She is just too much for my taste and I think it might be because lots of stories are coming out about Lea Michele being a completely bratty diva and that irks me.

I love Sue with her sister.  It gives her real depth beyond just being a complete hard a$$.

you're right kiz... and  i agree about everything else too. i don't FF because we don't DVR it but i definitely check FB or put dishes away when she's singing.

to be honest, i usually only listen to the first 20-30 seconds of anyone's songs if they aren't choreographed and then i do something else until it's over. i do like the singing but not enough to give it my undivided attention.

melinda.... i TOTALLY forgot about the fact that she was in Goonies. yes, that makes her totally awesome.

  • I really liked Glee last night, and I have Raising Hope recorded!  I really love Lea Michele's voice, and I usually like her performances, but it seems like lately they just add some random song so she can have a solo.  IDK....it's getting a little old.  We get it, she can sing....

I seriously am in love with that show though, I am the biggest dork!

  • I really liked last night's episode of Glee; they brought some substance back into it! I actually thought the pushing of religion on Kurt was quite realistic. People don't know what do to/say in those situations, so they fall back on God/prayer if that's what they believe. I don't know how many times after my sister's death I heard, "I'll pray for you." or "Pray for strength." Or the one I loathed the most, "God doesn't give you what you can't handle." It irritated the hell out of me. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated any support and encouragement, but I didn't like having God or religion pushed on me when it's not something I personally believe.

I think Mawmaw makes Raising Hope. I agree that last night's episode wasn't particularly entertaning compared to past episodes, but I did think it was pretty creative how they worked her Jenga skills into getting the baby out of the greenhouse.
