Re: Clicky Poll - baby names
x's 2! I wish I could do them all the time
Our good friends named their baby Kayla - she just turned a year old.
My two favorites are Stella and Evie. I think Evie will be mispronounced, but I still like it. I don't like Kayla and Sadie reminds me of a dog.
We are stumped on girls names. That partially the reason I don't want to have another.
I'm really partial to Evie, but I agree... very good chance of it being mispronounced. Any ideas on how to prevent that?
I think of a dog when I hear Sadie too, but it's one of H's faves.
I don't have a clue how I would spell it so that it gets pronounced correctly. People will eventually learn how its pronounced, but she'll have to correct everyone at least the first time they say it.
Are you having a girl, or do you already have a boy name picked out?
Really? There are a TON of girl names I like. Boy names were the hardest for us (for our non existant children
)
Really? My first thought on pronounciation was Eh-vee, instead of Ee-vee (if that makes sense.)
I've never heard anyone pronounce that name "eeeeeevieee."
Yes. We were set on Annika, but someone in our semi-close cirlce of friends chose that name for their baby. Boo hoo.
We have our next boy's name picked out though (well I do at least...lol).
This is why one of the names we have picked out for a girl is secret. We don't want someone "stealing" it. I even had to swear I wouldn't tell you girls! We figure the less it's heard, the better chance we have of it staying original with our family and friends.
We already have our boy name picked out, so we won't have to worry about if/when the time comes!
I LOVE the name Stella. If my last name didn't start with ST, it would have been Mere's name. But Stella Stickypicky (obviously not my real last name) was a mouth full. Stella Lynn is sort of hard to say, but middle names are rarely used anyway.
I've known three dogs named Sadie. It just doesn't do it for me haha.
I like Evie pronounced how you want to pronounce it. I never heard it pronounced EV-eeeee until Mrs.Amanda used it. Does Evey work better? I don't like the looks of it, but it leans more toward Eve plus eeee.
Kayla isn't bad, but not my favorite on your list
)
Haha for real. In our case, it was just a coincidence. They lived in IL when they had her, and moved here very shortly after. Sad day for me when I found out...lol. Not really.
Hmm.... I guess it's just me. I don't get out much.
