Right now TJ sees Dr. Cindy at Dr. Eva Hansens Office. I like them, they are always very nice but they seem to blow off my concern for things sometimes. I've been thinking about looking for a different pediatrician and I was wondering if you favored a male doc for your sons or a female for your daughters or if it didn't/doesn't matter to you. I'm asking because after talking with my cousin, whose son will be 1 yr old on the 11th of this month, she began with a female ped. but then switched to a male and she said that she feels he is much better when dealing with Logan. I'm just wondering and trying to think for the future if he would be more comfortable in the long run with a male doctor instead of a female or if it will not even matter. I know when I was younger I always prefered seeing the female docs over the male ones that were at the practice. Maybe I'm just over thinking this though??

I went to Dr. Hansens group for many years too...and was less than impressed with them. I ended up switching my kids over to PediatricCare Associates on Meijer Drive. There are several docs there...but we mainly see either Dr. Bilo or Dr. Heil. I love them...they take tons of time with us and we are super happy with them. My kids are older: 15, 13, and 9...and they all like the docs and staff there too.

My practice has 2 drs. one male, one female. They take turns seeing them. I have no issue w/ sex.
Nyrek: I didn't realize you had older children. I thought on a recent post you mentioned children. I also have 2 older children 11 & 13. What city is Meijer Dr. on?
When I hit puberty I wanted to see only female doctors.
Although Davis just saw one of the male doctors at the practice we go to and I'm going to start going to him exclusively. He was super nice and I think Davis will eventually prefer a male doctor over a female.
I saw a male pediatrician my whole life when growing up, it didn't bother me. My most favorite GP as an adult was a male too, he had the BEST bedside manner and you could talk to him about everything very comfortably....unfortunately he's up here in Ann Arbor and once I left U of M I got another GP down in Toledo who is also a male....I like him, he's HILARIOUS!
KP and PJ both see a male pediatrician. S. Toledo Peds. LOVE THEM!
