Phone numbers on Facebook

I'm not sure if anyone noticed or posted about this but you may want to check it out....

Go to the top right of your screen, click Acct then Edit Friends. Go to the left side of your screen and click Phonebook. Everyone's phone#'s are now being published. Pls repost to let your friends know this is happening so they can remove their phone #'s by changing their privacy settings. Privacy Settings - CustomizeSetting - Phone - Only Me

Re: Phone numbers on Facebook

  • Thanks SO much for letting us know - that's ridiculous!
  • One of my friends posted that on her status yesterday. I went there but didn't figure out how to change it. I'll do it again tonight.

  • FYI once you go to "phone" the drop down menu that's on the right doesn't have the "only me" option. You have to select "customize" and then it will lead you to ANOTHER drop-down where you can pick only me.

I really do not want to be mad at facebook but they are making it HARD.

EDIT: What I just wrote only applies if you're trying to change it through normal privacy settings, not through the "edit phonebook" setting. Sorry!

  • I don't mind as long as no one else can see my friends' numbers. On my Droid, my facebook friends who have phone numbers were automatically added to my phone's contact list, along with their profile pics, which was actually pretty neat, I thought.

I just went to a friend's page to see if I could see her friends' numbers, and I couldn't...but I'll still play with it bit more when I get home this evening...thanks for the headsup!!
