Anyone use a Rug Doctor on your couch?

I really want to clean our couches... they are ivory microfiber and we've spot cleaned as needed over the last 5 years we've owned them, but they really need a good cleaning.

Anyone use a Rug Doctor or have another recommendation? I'd like to try to do it myself before I go the professional route.

Re: Anyone use a Rug Doctor on your couch?

  • Yep.  I rented a Rug Doctor for my carpet, but got the small handle attachment and did my microfiber couches as well.  I only used water on the couch.  I was scared the solution would stain.  I was surprised by the amount of dirt that came out of my couch.
  • Great to know! Now I'm going to rent a rug doctor this week :)

  • I use my Bissel Little Green carpet cleaner on my microfiber couches. We recently sold them and bought new ones, and I cleaned the old ones before they left. I was shocked at how good they looked!
  • It works great!! You can still use the soulution, it wont stain, because microfiber is 100% polyester. Have fun!
