Talk to me about...
...a trans-vag ultra sound. I have to have one Monday and I'm nervous because I get EXTREME anxiety every time I have to have a pelvic exam/pap smear.
I had to have blood work done last Thursday (CD3) and got a call Friday morning that my Thyroid levels were low (hypo) and she wanted me to come back in that day for more specific Thyroid blood work. They called today and those levels were within normal range so they aren't going to treat me for hypothyroid. SO, I'm back to square one with not knowing what is going on with my body. Had it been the hypothyroid, it would have explained my irregular periods, fatigue, unexplained weight gain, etc....
So, to make a long story short: what should I expect Monday? Will it hurt?

It absolutely does not hurt.. It may seem a little awkward, but it definitely doesn't hurt at all... Basically, they insert into your vagina something that looks like a dildo (sorry to be so blunt) with a condom on it. They move it around and take pictures. I am sorry that you have to go through this and I am sending you all kinds of vibes that you are done with it fast.. Please remember the more you tense up the longer it may take. Relax, it will be over quickly..
Have you ever used a dildo before? It's basically that, with a condom, and a sh!t ton of lube. They will move it around and scope out everything in there. It's a little uncomfortable for me at times. Mainly when they are poking around my ovaries.

11/10 - 100mg Clomid + trigger + IUI + Estradiol + Progesterone = BFN
12/10 - Unmedicated cycle due to RE not doing treatments in December = BFN
1/11 - 100mg Clomid + trigger + IUI + Estradiol + Progesterone = BFN
2/11 - Same sh!t, different month = IUI cancelled due to no response = BFN
IVF #1 - Start stims (Follistim) 5/10, add in Ganirelix 5/14
ER 5/21 - 13 retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilized; ET 5/26 - transferred one perfect 1AA blast. 3 snowbabies.
Beta 6/3 - 15.8; Beta 6/7 - 21.8; Beta 6/10 - 7
FET - Transferred 1 AA blast 7/11. Beta 7/20 - 311! Beta 7/22 - 784!! First u/s 8/10

I wouldn't worry - it's nothing like a pap in my opinion. It's exactly what the others said and I didn't find it painful either.

Thanks for the info girls! I actually called and asked the Dr. to prescribe me some Xanax or something for my anxiety but she said I wouldn't need it. We shall see.

It really is not bad at all! You have a blanket over your knees so nothing is exposed and the tech is standing next to you and moving the wand with her hand. You won't feel anything!

I had them monthly from January to June in college b/c of a tumor on my ovary. They weren't that bad and honestly I had that one after the regular one and they let me pee, so I was much more comfortable then, lol!
