So today is my day off... so far it's been great. Went to a breast cancer walk this morning, shopping, new book, and now nesting. Until...
My boss just called... well first of all.. I work in retail mgmt. Customer service is HUGE!! And my job is to coach people good customer service. I get compliments all day long about how wonderful my customer service skill are until today.
So my boss calls me and wants to know about a particular customer that was in the store on Monday. Apparently this lady said that she has never received worse service in her life and will never be returning to our stores because of me! She has contacted the Corporate office and filed a complaint and been on the phone all day with boss and another manager in our store... I really don't know what she is talking about, I'm beside myself really. I called 3 other stores in state to see if they had the item she was looking for and gave her the numbers and descriptions she would need to find it elsewhere. I felt like I was as nice and helpful as I could be. She even seemed happy with her service at the time. I don't know why this bothering me so much but I'm new still and I have my eye on promotion and I feel like this just makes me look bad. Sorry if that was a long rambling sentence. I'm just grossly offended. and it was a total buzz kill.
Re: I need a hug. : (
Oh, that's so awful and annoying!! I used to work in retail mgmt too, and something that you just have to remember is that some people have miserable lives and are spoiled and make a hobby out of making other people's lives awful. I'm sure this woman is one of those.
HUGS to you and GL. I hope it all works out.

I am sorry this happened to you. Ditto the PP who said some people are just miserable and like doing this sort of thing.
Did she give any types of reasons for saying you gave her bad service? Should you have called 20 stores instead of 3?
Other than the 3 I called, the other stores are more than 200 miles from my location. I told her this. I mean who wants to drive miles for a jacket?
