E-Mealz

Does anyone use e-mealz.com?  One of my FB friends just posted about it and loves it...you can pick meal plans for the week and they are customized to be very inexpensive at the grocery store and give you a variety of things to cook without having to think much about it.

On the web site they provide sample menus, and I think I'm going to try it.  Sounds like a pretty neat thing to me.  Plus, it's only $5 a month...not so bad, really.

Thoughts?

Re: E-Mealz

  • I don't need to spend $5 to get meal ideas when I can get them for free ;)

I don't find meal planning/preparing to be stressful in any way. It's kind of fun for me to find new recipes and make them. I also have no problem keeping costs down at the grocery store.

  • What is the actual website?  I went to www.emealz.com and it was not what you are talking about, I don't think.

I might sign up for it.  It seems like we are often in a rut and considering the number of hours we work, it would be nice to have some new ideas for quick, healthy meals!

Dave Ramsey endorses them so that is where I heard of them.  I looked into it a few years ago, but they didn't have all the different menu options they have now so it just didn't really work for us then.  Now, though it looks much better.  I think it could def. be a big help in meal planning.

  • I think I'm gonna try it. I'm always running out of ideas for meals. This is cool!

  • At one time I used http://savingdinner.com/ and loved it.  She customizes hers depending on dietary restrictions, money, and number of people you are cooking for.  It was great because it always made a perfect amount for just two.  It's been a couple years since I used it, but she was very decently priced.

  • I forgot about that site! I've never used it, but I've heard DR talk about it and my mom uses it sometimes. It's nice that they have different menu options now too (low carb, WW, etc).

I've used similar sites before... and I always end up going back to my old ways. Old habits die hard I guess. It's not really working well lately though - but only because I haven't been planning ahead every well.

  • This is so neat!!! I think I'm going to try it!! I have tried to plan meals and make a list...but it takes me more time than the average bear. The sample menus only give dinners. Do they just plan dinners? or do some of them help you plan lunches as well?
  • I think I'm going to try it.  Thanks for the info!
