I met Manolo Blahnik this weekend.
I knew he was going to be at the Northpark Neiman's but when I saw the date (October 1st) I assumed we would miss the Big Event since OU/TX is usually the second weekend of October. Anyway, we rolled into Neiman's on Friday and there was champagne and an orchestra - and then my husband shouted "HOLY CRAP! IS THAT THE MANOLO?" I was swooning - not because of Manolo but because my husband actually recognized him. Anyway, DH tried to convince me to buy a new pair so I could get the box autographed but because I have placed myself on a spending freeze I declined which I am quite proud of.
Needless to say, between meeting THE Manolo and several Mavs players Saturday night, and the OU win, it was a great weekend!!

Glad you had a great weekend! I am impressed you didn't buy the shoes--I don't know that I would have been able to resist in that situation!
I'm impressed by two things:
a) That you didn't buy a pair, I would have totally splurged and bought some just to get them autographed
b) That your husband recognized him. I don't think my husband knows the name let alone could spot him. He gets 2 gold stars for this in my book.
Way to go! Sounds like a fabulous weekend!
