Right now I am making navy bean soup for dinner, planning to make those broccoli muffin thingies, and I'm about to alter some pants with my brand new sewing machine.

5 years ago, I would have thought you were crazy if you had saidthis is what my life would be.

There's a bit of a story behind the sewing machine.

My mom is an amazing quilter. She has a bit of a collection of sewing machines. Last week, I called her to see if she had one I could use to sew pants because doing them by hand kind of sucks. She said sure. I guess she and my dad were so shocked that I wanted a sewing machine that they went out and bought me a new one!

I think she harbors a hope that I will get into quilting, even though I took classes as a kid and didn't really like it.

And my soup smells great right now.

I made the broccoli muffins yesterday. They are awesome. It usually takes us half a week to get through a whole pan of muffins, even our favorite cornbread muffins. But, we finished off the broccoli ones in less than 24 hours.

The final step would be being able to properly cook proteins. I either under or over cook just about all forms of meat.

I think the next step is to get into crafting, like Martha Stewart. You can even have your own multi-subject TV show!
