this is not going to end well

Why did I have to know about these? If left to my own devices, I would eat nothing but pop tarts.
Re: this is not going to end well
I am actually thinking of trying to make my own.
get pie crust; fill w pumpkin puree & spices/sugar (truvia for healthier), bake.
Frost.
Hmmm. Maybe I do this this weekend....

Jackie, I swear we must be sole mates. I was just thinking of making my own too!
Alton Brown did an episode where he made poptarts. I'm going to have to check out his recipe. But what happens to royal icing when you put it in the toaster?

i wish we had a toaster oven. we don't.
if not royal icing, then what? a powdered sugar/water glaze?

OOO! What if instead of juice or water you used one of those fancy flavored coffee creamers? Like a pumpkin spice one! Or, if you don't want to buy that, milk + pumpkin pie spice!
I need to stop.
Dude...you are genius.Want to open up a bakery chain you open one in Cali, and I open one in MA, and we call it Coast to Coast BakeCakery. Or...something.
I was just thinking, I should do a pecan pie poptart, also. only make the pecans all grinded up and chopped like.I know you don't like nuts but....nom nom.

funny enough, i like pecan pie! i won't eat pecans on their own, and i never put them in other baked goods, but i will eat them in pie. a pecan pie poptart sounds amazing.
i so know what i'm doing sunday.
I would like to figure out how to ship these...
My Planning Bio

i guess you could overnight them. but even then, if i did that, at best, you would be getting like 2-3 day old treats, and that's not really a treat, in my book.
the shipping issue is why i can't see myself opening a baking etsy shop. i'm really picky about how old the food i serve can be.
What about freezing the dough pre cooked, and shipping with dry ice (or whatever is safe). I mean...OMaha Steaks does it... and they ship frozen cakes; provided those things have a ton of preservatives and my guess is our treats don't...

You could probably ship them frozen in dry ice, but that stuff has got to be expensive. And you have to send it in one of those little foam coolers like Omaha steaks does. All of this makes shipping treats way way expensive.
Boo.
I'm thinking the same
