This weekend

Does anyone know of any fun outdoor activities going on this weekend? It's supposed to be gorgeous and I want to get out and enjoy possibly the last nice weekend. I wanted to go apple picking but everywhere I have looked is not doing pick your own anymore. Other ideas?

Zywiecs in Cottage Grove has a corn maze and haunting experience.

  • Emma Krumbee's in Belle Plain has pick your own. We went there 2 years ago and loved it. They are amazing, they tell you to test the apples before you decide to fill your bag. Just grab and bite. I love that we could taste them before purchasing them.

I'm living farther south this year and have no idea what the colors are doing in that area but when we went is was so pretty.

  • Pleasant Valley Orchard has pick your own :)

Live music on Saturday's too and its free.  Hayrides are $2.50 each though.

  • I should have said that all the orchards I have looked at are no longer doing pick your own for this season. They do it but its just too late in the apple season. Are the above orchards still doing the pick your own this season?

  • What about a corn maze or the pumpkin patch.

DH and I are thinking about taking the pups hiking somewhere (maybe Taylor's Fall) and are hoping to get some nice pictures with everyone and the fall colors!

  • There is a corn maze in Brooklyn Park I think that has a Twins theme and I've heard good reviews about it. My MIL gave us discounted tickets she got from work, we might go check it out in a couple weeks.

FYI - We went to do pick your own at Emma Krumbees last weekend and they had shut down the pick your own for the season which was really annoying.  Minnesota Harvest just up the way was still going (but they're closing after this year) and had quite a few apples on the trees yet.

  • Pleasant Valley is still doing PYO, that is why I suggested it for you.
  • Someone suggested McDougall's Apple Junction in Hastings the other day.  I checked the website earlier this week and they still have some limited pick your own.  They also have a pumpkin patch.  We are going on Saturday.

We want there last to Apple Junction last week & had a great time. We didn't pick apples but I did see a lot of apples still on the trees.
