I've just gotten into running, thanks to Ringy, Aunt B, and Snoopy. Now that it's getting dark out early, I'm starting to rethink running in the evenings. BUT, it's not really light out before I go to work. When do you ladies generally run? Do you run at the gym? So far, I've really enjoyed being outside for my runs and getting fresh air, but I know that will have to change once it gets to be winter.

Re: Runners, Please Help
When I ran more, I was a morning runner--I lived on a dirt road, used a reflective vest and really watch out for people speeding, but I always felt more comfortable running in the morning than at night. I'd be able to run in the morning up until mid-November or so.
With winter, I'd switch to the treadmill. It was boring at first, but once I made some good playlists, it wasn't so bad. I'd also add in some hill work on the treadmill to be ready for spring running outside.

During the winter months, I will run in the morning or do the treadmill in the gym after work. I really hate the treadmill, but since I run on pretty unpopulated trails it is much safer. For some reason I feel safer running on the trails in the morning than at night, still probably not the best idea though. The long races I like to run aren't until April, so during the winter months my weekday runs are 3-5 milers and then I'll do long runs on the weekends when I have daylight.
I'm glad you are enjoying running. It is my favorite "me" time.
