f/u to Halloween costume

So GRSP asked in my post what the girls are going to be for Halloween and Amelia is going to be a pink poodle and Allison is going to be a butterfly, so I think I am going to have Brian be a dog walker and I will be a lepidopterologist.

Now what to do for that....the girs each have a stuff dog that they made, so we could put the dogs on leashes. I will see what I can scrounge up at work or even buy a butterfly net from the gift shop.  Can you think of anything that I should dd to the costume.  Maybe I will break down and get iron on letters and a cheap t-shirt for Brian and put on "Dog Walker"

Re: f/u to Halloween costume

  • Maybe you could carry around a magnifying glass with your little net?

  • I was talking to my CWs and one of them said they have little plastic things that show the life cycle of a butterfly - egg, caterpillar, and butterfly - that I could put in my pocket. So I busted out "excuse me. is that a caterpillar in your pocket or are you happy to see me."  they just rolled their eyes and cringed. ha ha.

I think maybe I will see if I can come up with two lets - Brian and be a dog catcher and I can try to "catch" Allison in her costume. I think they would get a kick out of that.

  • You could probably find fake butterflies at Hobby Lobby or someplace to pin all over yourself.  Do you happen to own a safari hat and completely khaki wardrobe?  That'd give you the stereotypical lepidopterologist look. Stick out tongue
  • That very odd community butterfly "expert" always carries around a huge plastic jar full of caught butterflies. I know how much you idolize him.

I love the dog catcher/lepidopterologist idea!  Yay!
